Chapter 5: Bed and Ward Transfer
1. Purpose#
To execute internal patient relocations between beds, wards, and clinical units as atomic transactions ensuring uninterrupted clinical continuity.2. Scope#
Step-down transfers from ICU to general wards, post-operative relocations, and specialty isolation ward moves.3. Responsibility#
Transferring Ward Nurse, Receiving Ward Nurse, and the Bed Manager.4. Prerequisites#
Doctor internal transfer order and confirmed vacant bed in target unit.5. Procedure#
1. Select the occupied bed tile on the Ward Bed Board. 1. Click Transfer Bed from the action drawer.

- Callout 1: Originating bed, department, and current admission identifier.
- Callout 2: Destination ward and verified vacant target bed selector.
- Callout 3: Clinical reason for transfer dropdown.
- Click Commit Transfer. The system atomically sets the originating bed to Cleaning and marks the destination bed as Occupied.
