Chapter 12: Staff Nurse Ward Bedside Console

1. Purpose#

To provide duty staff nurses with a focused bedside interface strictly scoped to their assigned ward for instant patient admission and vacation recording.

2. Scope#

All inpatient ward nursing stations and handheld ward tablets.

3. Responsibility#

On-duty Staff Nurses and Ward Sisters Incharge.

4. Prerequisites#

Staff Nurse authentication and active shift assignment to the specific clinical ward.

5. Procedure#

1. Open Nurse Ward Console at `/hospital` or launch Nurse Mode on the mobile terminal.

As the patient physically arrives at the assigned bed, tap the bed tile and confirm Mark Occupied.

Upon verified patient discharge, tap Vacated to immediately place the bed into Cleaning status.

6. Timelines / SLA#

Occupancy recorded within 3 minutes of physical bed placement. Vacation recorded within 5 minutes of discharge.

7. Troubleshooting and Escalation#

If an unassigned ward displays upon login, request the Bed Manager to update today shift roster assignment.

8. Records Kept#

Nursing bed event log, patient bedside arrival timestamps, and ward occupancy registers.
